Dragon Maiden pieces are developed for controlled movement, quiet structure, and long-term composure. Care should preserve the fabric surface, recovery, sculptural line, and the feeling of stillness built into each garment.
1. General Care
Please read the care label attached to your garment before washing or cleaning. The label is the first reference for the specific material, construction, and finish of the piece you have received.
Most Dragon Maiden active pieces should be washed cold, inside out, with similar colors and a mild detergent. Avoid bleach, optical brighteners, and fabric softener. These products may weaken stretch recovery, disturb the matte surface, or change the hand of the fabric.
For first washes, especially dark or saturated colors, wash separately. Close zippers, fasten hooks, and remove any loose items from pockets before washing.
2. Ru Sculpt(TM) Fabric
Ru Sculpt(TM) fabric is designed to feel compact, cool, and quietly supportive. Its surface should remain matte and smooth. To preserve this quality, avoid washing it with rough textiles, towels, denim, hook-and-loop fasteners, or hardware that may abrade the face of the fabric.
Do not wring aggressively. After washing, press out excess water gently and reshape the garment by hand. The structure of the fabric is resilient, but repeated harsh twisting may affect recovery over time.
3. Drying
Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct heat and strong sunlight. Do not tumble dry unless the care label specifically allows it. Heat can affect elasticity, bonded details, and the calm surface of technical fabrics.
Allow the garment to dry fully before storing it. A piece stored while damp may retain odor, develop creasing, or lose the clean hand intended by the fabric.
4. Ironing And Steaming
Do not iron directly on the matte face of Ru Sculpt(TM) fabric. If light steaming is needed, use a low setting, keep distance from the garment, and test first on an inconspicuous area.
For pieces with mixed materials, trims, or structured panels, professional care may be preferable. Avoid pressing over zippers, bonded seams, logos, or sculpting lines.
5. Storage
Store each piece clean and fully dry. Fold gently along natural lines or hang on a smooth hanger that does not distort the shoulder or waist. Avoid sharp clips, rough wood, and crowded storage that compresses the garment for long periods.
Keep garments away from perfume, cosmetics, oils, sunscreen, and abrasive surfaces. If contact occurs, clean promptly according to the care label.
6. Travel
When packing, fold the garment smoothly and place it away from shoes, metal accessories, and textured objects. For long travel, use a protective pouch or a clean layer of tissue to prevent friction.
Upon arrival, unfold and allow the garment to rest. Many light creases will release naturally when the fabric returns to room humidity and the body warms it during wear.
7. After Practice
After Tai Chi Yoga, studio practice, or warm-weather wear, allow the garment to air before placing it in a laundry bag. Do not leave damp garments sealed in a suitcase, gym bag, or car.
If the garment has absorbed perspiration, wash promptly. Repeated drying of perspiration into the fabric can affect hand, scent, and surface over time.
